With limits on cannabis research due to federal laws, studies are beginning to seek the answers to medical marijuana’s possibilities as a treatment for ailments. The U.S. Center for Disease Control estimated over 20% of U.S. adults suffer from chronic pain. That’s over 51,600,000 Americans suffering daily.
Can Cannabis Help Treat Chronic Pain?
Studies suggest a variety of results for the treatment of chronic pain with medical cannabis. In the PubMed Journal, June 2015, “Cannabinoids for Medical Use: A Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis” offers clues for medical marijuana patients.
The studies included 79 trials with 6462 participants.
The systematic review discovered and concluded the following: a 37% report of reduction in pain.
